Read MoreFurniture Bank’s annual Chair Affair fundraiser, an auction of refurbished second-hand furniture held last month, helped raise more than $67,000 for low-income families in the Greater Toronto Area. Forty designers chose the pieces from Furniture Bank over the summer and then transformed them to suit the “from my home to yours” theme using paint, fabric and TLC. “They were (originally) pretty ugly looking chairs, in many cases,” said Dan Kershaw, Furniture Bank’s executive director. “They’re torn, they’re ripped, they’re stained, they’re wobbly. The designers go away and they reimagine it.” Here’s a sampling of their creations. […]
